Certificate III Animal Studies & Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing - Joined the Windan’Sea family in January 2020

What aspect of veterinary medicine do you enjoy most? +

Radiology and dental.

How did you know you wanted to work in veterinary medicine? +

I've been very interested in animals since I was small. I started looking at different careers that involved them in year 11, did a days work experience in a clinic at Wingham, finished school, then did my Cert III in Sydney and worked for 9 months in a Sydney clinic. Then I moved back home and completed my Cert IV.

After seeing the positive changes we were able to create in an animal's life and for their owner, I knew I had found my passion. The feeling of accomplishment and dedication to helping each animal is something I admire about working at Windan'Sea, and one of the many reasons why I LOVE my job.

What's the one thing clients should know about vet medicine that they probably don't? +

We give our heart and souls to making sure every pet who is in our care is loved and looked after like it’s our own, no matter how busy we are.

We know it’s a stressful time having to leave your pet in the clinic for a procedure or if its unwell, but just know that we are giving them a tonne of cuddles, a load of kisses, lots of pats, and trying our hardest to make them feel calm and comfortable.

Is there a philosophy that you practice by? +

Treat every animal like a family member, because even if they aren’t apart of YOUR family, they’re a huge part of someone else’s.

What does your animal family at home look like? +

I have a 3 year old Rottweiler named Luther, a 5 year old American Staffy named Ralph, and 2 opaline Burke parrots named Dozer and Delilah.
